Usernames and passwords are stored separately from clinical data.
When you log into the patient portal a hash value is created. The hash value is a unique identifier that allows our system to safely hold your data in your account. This is true due to the nature of hash values.
A hash value is a long string of characters that represents your account. This provides security for the data due to the hash values being randomly generated. They are a one-way trip: the original data can't be recreated or decrypted from the hash value. This is all encrypted for additional safety.
