How do I Schedule an eVisit?

An eVisit is a consultation with your provider through secure email messaging.  The eVisit process includes answering questions to qualify your symptoms, identifying the reason for the eVisit, and if needed, getting a prescription from your provider.
 
The following are eVisit requirements and features:
  • You must have a connection with a provider that supports eVisits.
  • If your provider has the eVisit feature, the eVisit button is displayed in the Inbox in your patient portal account.
  • Your symptoms must be qualified during the eVisit. If your symptoms are too severe, the eVisit stops and you are asked to see the provider at his or her office, or seek emergency medical attention.
  • A flat fee might be charged by your provider and is paid when requesting your eVisit.
  • All responses to your eVisit are sent to your Inbox in the patient portal.
    • Note: Internet Explorer v8 is not currently supported for eVisits. You must have an Internet Explorer version higher than v8.
 
Request an eVisit from your Inbox
  1. From the Home Tab, click eVisit under Get Treated Now just above Recent Activity
  2. Select the Provider that you want to have an eVisit with
    1. Note:  if your Provider is not listed, they do not have the eVisit function enabled
  3. Emergency Disclaimer Pops up > Click Next
  4. Under Reason for eVisit, select the symptoms you are experiencing
  5. Read the Terms of Services, check the box next to “I understand and accept the Terms of Service”, and hit the Next button.
  6. Qualify box opens
    1. Read the conditions and answer the question to qualify your symptoms
    2. If you are experiencing any of the conditions or symptoms listed, select Yes.  A message opens confirming that you have a condition that is outside the guidelines for an eVisit.  This will stop the eVisit workflow.
    3. Select No if those conditions are not present
  7. Chief Complaint box opens
    1. Answer the questions regarding your symptoms and click Next
  8. Other Information box opens
    1. Enter any other information that you would like your Provider to know and click Next
  9. Confirm Patient Information opens (No eVisit Payment enabled)
    1. Confirm your contact information and pharmacy
    2. Click the Send button.
    3. After you click Send, a message is displayed that indicates that your eVisit is submitted and the expected amount of time that you might wait for a response from your Provider.  Click OK to finish the eVisit.
  10.  Confirm Patient Information opens (eVisit Payment enabled)
    1. Confirm your contact information and pharmacy
    2. Click the Next button
  11. Payment window opens
    1. Select Go to Payment Page to pay your eVisit bill
    2. Click Complete and a message is displayed that indicates that your eVisit is submitted and the expected amount of time that you might wait for a response from your Provider.  Click OK to finish the eVisit.
      1. Note:  The online payment might be optional, depending on how you Provider has set this feature up
  12. Confirmation of Request
    1. Your eVisit request is sent to the Provider
    2. A copy of the message will be in your Inbox > Sent Folder
      1. Your provider receives the eVisit request, reviews your symptoms, creates a care plan, and responds to the eVisit request.  This message will be sent to your Inbox and you can retrieve your careplan.
      2. Your provider will also update your health record with this eVisit information.
      3. A receipt is also sent through an email message to your Inbox
 
Request an eVisit from Providers
  1. From the Home tab, click on My Accounts > My Connections
  2. On the My Connections screen, expand “With Providers and Healthcare Organizations” bar, and select a Provider
  3. Click What do you want to do? > Request an eVisit
  4. Emergency Message Disclaimer opens.  Hit Next
  5. Request an eVisit opens
    1. If the Provider name that you selected is not displayed in Provider, select the provider that you want to have an eVisit with and click Next
      1. Note:  If your provider is not listed, they do not have the eVisit feature enabled
  6. Reason for visit opens
    1. Repeat Steps #4-12 in the “Request an eVisit from your Inbox” listed above.
